Michael Firmin earned his Ph.D. degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.  He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio (#5937) and a National Certified Counselor.  Dr. Firmin has been a full-time university professor since 1988, maintaining a part-time private practice.  He completed his one-year, full-time psychology internship at Keystone Community Resources in Scranton, PA, conducting juvenile evaluations and providing clinical services to youths-at-risk.  Dr. Firmin completed his one-year, full-time post-doctoral residency at TCN: Behavioral Health Services in Xenia, Ohio, conducting clinical & forensic evaluations and providing clinical services to juveniles and other populations.  He has published over 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented over 150 papers at national & international research conferences.

Dr. Firmin attempts to have psychological evaluation reports completed to clients within one week of completing the data collection (when feasible).  Some reports, such as child custody evaluations often take longer.  Reports are written in a straight-forward manner, designed to be understood by psychological experts, legal professionals, as will as common readers.  Dr. Firmin’s usual and customary hourly fee is reasonable compared to typical psychologists and his psychological evaluation testimony has been admitted in local, state, and federal courts.
