John Potter
John Potter earned a master’s degree in counseling from Amberton University in Garland, Texas and a masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio since 1998. For fifteen years John served as the Director of Counseling Services at Cedarville University. Most recently he has begun working for Miami Valley Assessments where he offers counseling services for both teens and adults. His help for individuals involves a wide range of issues including areas such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, and same-sex attraction to name a few. He also draws from his years as a pastor to address marriage and family issues and is available to conduct premarital sessions for engaged couples. Ruth Lowrie
Dr. Ruth Lowrie earned her Ed.D. degree in school psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 1982. She currently is a certified school psychologist in the state of Ohio and, since 1984, has worked in multiple public schools in that capacity. Most recently (from 2002 until 2011), Dr. Lowrie served at the Clark County Educational Service Center in Springfield, Ohio. Presently, she is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Dr. Lowrie possesses particular expertise in conducting evaluations for intellectual, behavioral, and developmental disability issues. At MVA, Dr. Lowrie provides services as a psychology assistant under the supervision of an Ohio licensed psychologist.
